It was announced on September 29th that actor Shogo Hama will be appearing in the NHK morning drama " Bakebake " (General TV, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi . He will play Takichi Shoda, a friend of Yuichi Ryo Yoshizawa, played by Ryo Yoshizawa. This will be Hama's second appearance in a Asadora, following "Maiagare!" in the second half of 2022.
Hama plays Takichi Shoda, a brilliant young man from Matsue and a friend of Yuichi Nishikori. Compared to Nishikori, who is known as a "master of the game," Shoda calls himself "a little less than half of him."
Hama commented with joy, "This will be my first appearance in a Asadora since 'Maiagare!' I'm happy to be able to return to BK (NHK Osaka) after such a long time!"
"When I read the script for ' Bakebake,' I was captivated by the kind-hearted and mysterious story of characters who are dead serious, yet somehow funny and lovable. I haven't really played many extremely pure characters like Shoda Takichi, so for me it will be a challenge and a new frontier. I look forward to cherishing the time I spend with the wonderful cast and staff. Please look forward to it!" he said enthusiastically.
Production manager Hashizume Kuniomi explained, "Shoda Takichi is a brilliant man from Matsue, but he has been hiding in the shadow of a big figure, Nishikori Yuichi, played by Ryo Yoshizawa. Compared to Nishikori, who is known as a 'great powerhouse,' Shoda is a very human character who describes himself as 'a little less than half.'"
"Shogo Hama has solid acting skills and is able to express Shoda's unique sense of timing and the complex emotional nuances. He will be deeply involved with Toki and Heaven in the story. Please pay attention to how Shoda will move the story forward. ' Bakebake' finally started airing today. Please look forward to the exploits of Shoda Takichi, played by Hama, and we hope that we can bring you all enjoyable mornings for the next six months."
"Bakebake" is based on the story of Koizumi Setsu, the daughter of a fallen samurai from Matsue, and her husband Yakumo (Lafcadio Hearn), and depicts the heroine, who loves ghost stories, going about her everyday life with her foreign husband. The script is written by Fujiki Mitsuhiko, who has worked on NHK's "Asagaya Sisters' Relaxed Life" and WOWOW's "Shooting Break Series."
