It has recently been announced that Mitsushima Nazuna, who was selected through an audition, will appear in the NHK evening drama "Hirayasumi" (Monday to Thursday, 10:45 p.m.), starring actor Okayama Amane. She will play Yokoyama Akari, the first friend of protagonist Hiroto's (Okayama) cousin Natsumi (Mori Nana), at art school.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Shinzo Keigo, which has been serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits since 2021. Hiroto, a 29-year-old part-time worker, begins living with his 18-year-old cousin Natsumi, who moved to Tokyo from Yamagata, in a detached one-story house he inherited from a local grandmother. The story follows the two as people with difficult problems gather around them. Riho Yoshioka plays Yomogi, a woman who works at a real estate company and whom Hiroto meets by chance.
Mitsushima is 23 years old and was born on July 10th, 2002 in Osaka Prefecture. Last year, she also appeared in season 2 of the night drama "The Woman Who Wants to Make and the Woman Who Wants to Eat."
Regarding the character Akari she will be playing, she said, "She has a strong core, is caring towards her friends, and a passionate side that shines even when she sometimes lacks confidence. I love that about Akari, and I played the role with care, bearing in my heart the joy and responsibility of being chosen at the audition. I feel like I gained strength through the role. I would be happy if this production, which was carefully woven together with the warm-hearted staff and cast, can gently become a part of everyone's daily lives. Please come and meet everyone at 'Hirayasumi'."
It was also announced that Yoshimura Kaito will play Noguchi Hideki, Hiroto's best friend from high school, a man of obvious intelligence and a bit of a liar, and Negishi Tokie will play Wada Hanae, the eccentric old lady who connects with Hiroto and decides to give her one-story house to him.
The drama will consist of 20 episodes and will start on November 3rd.
