The final episode of the drama series " School of love. " (Fuji TV, Thursdays at 10pm), starring actor Fumino Kimura , aired on September 18th. The letter written by Kaworu (Raul), who is not good at reading and writing, to Manami (Kimura) touched the hearts of viewers and became a hot topic.
◇The following contains spoilers
Kaworu is invited by Manami to the fireworks festival at Miura Beach, which is being revived for the first time in several years.
He took the entrance exam for the vocational school with the firm resolve that "if I fail, I'll break up with my teacher," but he ended up failing. In desperation, Kaworu rejected Aimi, and the two ended up distancing themselves.
On the day of the fireworks festival, Kaworu goes to a restaurant on Miura Beach that he and Aimi once went to together. He entrusts a letter to the waitress, Kinue (Kurosawa Asuka), to give to Aimi when she arrives. In neat, jagged handwriting, the letter expresses his feelings for Aimi, saying, "I'm glad I can't write kanji. If I could, I wouldn't have been dating you, sensei." There are also traces of the kanji for "lie" and "man" having been rewritten.
The quality of the writing is incomparable to when he first started learning how to read and write from Manami, and comments on social media included, "The handwriting in the letter is so beautiful, I was really moved compared to episode 1. He must have worked so hard," "In Kaworu's letter to Chihuahua-sensei, you could really see the eraser marks on the difficult characters like lie and kanji and you could tell he worked hard, but it was amazing how smoothly he wrote the rest of the letters," "The letter was amazing. You could really see how hard he worked to write the kanji for lie. That's how amazing it is," and "I haven't been writing much lately, but letters that are filled with feeling are special. They're warm."
