" MF Ghost" was serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) from September 2017 to February 2025. This marks Shigeno's first automobile-themed manga series in about four years, since "Initial D," which ran from 1995 to 2013. Set in Japan in the year 202X, where self-driving cars have become widespread, the story follows Kanata Katagiri Katagiri, a graduate of a British racing school, who takes part in races to achieve a certain goal, as the MFG public road car races gain popularity around the world.
Kanata is a student of Takumi Fujiwara , the protagonist of " Initial D ," and races in a red 86. The appearance of characters from " Initial D, " such as Keisuke Takahashi and Hiroya Okuyama, also attracted attention. The series was also adapted into a TV anime, with the first season airing from October to December 2023 and the second season from October to December 2024.
