"Drama 1 Week" brings together the most important drama news from the past week. This time (September 6th to 12th), the topics that drew attention were Kyoko Saito and Mizuno Miki playing the same character, and Yuki Yoda taking on the role of an "influencer who exposes allegations." On September 6th, it was announced that Yuki Yoda will be starring in "Buzz Until You Die!!", which will begin airing on MBS's Drama Special Zone slot (Thursdays at 12:59 AM) from October 16th. This will be Yoda's first appearance in a terrestrial TV drama series since graduating from Nogizaka46 in February of this year. Yoda will be taking on the role of an "accusing influencer" and breaking new ground by dyeing her hair lighter to suit the role. The protagonist she will be playing is Asano Kanako, a 26-year-old divorced part-time worker. Her life changes drastically overnight when a video she accidentally filmed of a hit-and-run accident goes viral on social media.
On the 6th, NAZE, who will be appearing in "DREAM STAGE," which will air on TBS's Friday drama slot (Fridays at 10 PM) in January 2026, appeared at the fashion event "41st Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection (TGC) 2025 AUTUMN/WINTER," held at Saitama Super Arena (Chuo Ward, Saitama City). At TGC, they held their first performance, which was also filming for the drama. NAZE appeared as the opening act, performing their original song "Wanderlust." They then performed a cover of "Koi" (by Hoshino Gen), the theme song for the TBS hit drama "Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu" (2016), and performed the powerful "Koi Dance."
Also at TGC on the 6th, Fumiya Takahashi appeared and announced the details of the vertical short drama he had announced he would be planning, producing, and starring in. After walking the runway with his co-stars in the drama, Okazaki Sae and Keito Tsuna , Takahashi revealed the title of the drama, "This Love is the Ideal Form," and that it will begin streaming on October 24th. He also announced that the heroine will be played by Nanoka Hara , who co-stars with him as a married couple in the currently airing NHK Asadora drama "Anpan ." The drama is a love story between the protagonist Takamine Hiroshi (Takahashi) and his girlfriend Asahina Mio (Hara), who has mysterious powers.
On the 6th, it was announced that TV Asahi and Toei are teaming up to produce a new superhero period drama, "Masked Ninja Akakage" (Sundays 12:10 AM - 12:40 AM, Kanto region local), which will premiere late on October 26th. The original work is a ninja manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) from 1966 to 1967 by the late Mitsuteru Yokoyama, known for works such as "Tetsujin 28-go," "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," and "Sally the Witch." (The original title was "Akakage of Hida" when it first began serialization.) A live-action adaptation was released in 1967, boldly adapting the original, including the appearance of monsters and UFOs. The Reiwa-era superhero period drama will be brought to life by director Takashi Miike, known for the "Crows Zero" film series (2007-2009) and "13 Assassins" (2010). The lead role will be played by Taiki Taiki Sato , leader of the comedy duo "FANTASTICS."
On the 6th, a fan appreciation event for the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM and other times), starring Mio Imada , was held in Kochi Prefecture. Imada, who plays Nobu, Noriko Eguchi, who plays Hatako, and Nanoka Hara, who plays Meiko, appeared. Imada said, "It's been about two weeks since filming ended, and I'm relieved that we were able to finish the year safely. The words that made the biggest impression on me in the drama were Jiro's, 'Run with all your might, as fast as you can, so that despair won't catch up with you.' I cherished these words and kept remembering them as I worked hard as Nobu." On the 7th, it was revealed that Kyoko Saito and Miki Mizuno will be co-starring in the drama series "Is It a Sin to Kill the Guy Who Took My Daughter's Life?", which will begin airing on October 7th in the "Kaido Ra★Eleven" time slot (Kantele/Fuji TV, Tuesdays at 11 PM). Mizuno plays a 55-year-old mother who loses her daughter, undergoes full-body plastic surgery, and is pursued as a new mother by Saito, who carries out her revenge. This is Saito's first role as a mother, and her first attempt at a "revenge drama." Reiko Shinohara (Mizuno), a caregiver, lives happily as a single mother, watching over the growth of her 27-year-old daughter and 4-year-old grandson. One day, her daughter and grandson jump from an apartment building, leaving her grandson unconscious and in critical condition, and her daughter dies. Then, Reiko receives an anonymous phone call saying, "Your daughter has been killed by a mom friend."
On the 8th, it was announced that a sequel to the legendary drama series "101st Proposal" (Fuji TV), which gained popularity thanks to the brilliant performances of Atsuko Asano and Tetsuya Takeda, titled "102nd Proposal," will be produced under the direction of Osamu Suzuki. Erika Karata will star in the series, co-starring Seiya of Shimofuri Myojo and Kentaro Ito. Suzuki, who is a retired broadcast writer and screenwriter, has reportedly been eager to produce a sequel drama for several years before his retirement. The story is set in a world where Kaoru (Asano) and Tatsuro (Takeda), who tied the knot in the final episode of "101st Proposal," have married. Karata will play the daughter born to the couple, Hoshino Hikaru, who also plays the cello like Kaoru. Seiya will play Sorano Taiyo, who falls in love with Hikaru at first sight, and Ito will play Otsukine, Hikaru's lover and pianist. Takeda will also appear as Tatsuro.
