The NHK Educational TV program "Switch Interview," featuring actor Satoshi Tsumabuki in conversation with director Lee Sang-il, whose film "National Treasure" is currently a huge hit, will be broadcast for two consecutive weeks on September 19th and 26th. Tsumabuki, who is currently in the spotlight for his role as Yagi Shinnosuke in the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan," and director Lee have previously teamed up on the films "69 sixty nine" (2004), "Villain" (2010), and "Rage" (2016). This interview was made possible at Tsumabuki's request.
This time, Tsukamoto chose Director Lee as his conversation partner, saying, "I'd like to take the time to ask him about his thoughts on film, which he's usually too embarrassed to ask about." The two, who still meet regularly to catch up on their latest news, will talk extensively about their thoughts on their work and acting.
Tsukamoto commented, "I guess it's close to words like comrade or comrade. If I were asked who I would like to talk to, the first one that comes to mind is definitely Lee. On the other hand, if we were alone, I wouldn't be able to ask him how he approaches movies. He doesn't compromise when it comes to acting or directing, so I would like to hear what 'good acting' means to him."
Director Lee said, "He has appeared in three films in main roles, so I think we have a strong relationship of trust. We have come this far by showing each other our true selves. There's not much left for him to show, so I'm a little excited to see what else he'll reveal."
"Switch Interview: Satoshi Tsumabuki x Lee Sang-il" will be broadcast on September 19th and 26th at 9:30 pm.
