The six-member girl group JumpingKiss (commonly known as Jumping Kiss) held a live concert to celebrate the release of their first album "Suki de Suki de Suki dakara" at Akihabara ZEST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on August 31st.
Junkiss is a six-member idol group ranging in age from third-year junior high school students to 22-year-olds, who perform live shows and events in Tokyo and Osaka under the motto, "We'll become beautiful older sisters!" Formed in 2018, the group underwent several member changes before taking on its current lineup in 2024. The current members (member colors in parentheses) are leader Akizuki Kanna (red), Yamada Ria (pink), Hirakawa Saki (purple), Sakurai Risa (light blue), Nanami Yumeya (green), and Yukimoto Renmo (orange).
The lyrics for all five singles were written by Shuko, an actress who played the role of a senior pastry chef to the main character played by Tao Tsuchiya in the NHK Asadora drama "Mare" in the first half of 2015.
Hiiragi-san made her debut as a novelist in 2022 with "Birthday Umbrella" (Bungeishunju). When she made her acting debut in 2008 in the school drama "Classroom of the Sun and Sea" (Fuji TV) starring Yuji Oda, she was a member of the idol group "JK21," the predecessor of Junkiss, for about a year. After graduating, she began writing lyrics for idol songs and is like a "reliable older sister" to Junkiss.
Junkiss is a group that stands out from the cute idol crowd, with many songs that have a cool atmosphere and feature mature monochrome costumes. Hiiroko explains the thoughts behind the lyrics, saying, "We cherish the worldview of Junkiss, and weave phrases and words that represent the feelings of girls who want to grow up, and put them to melody."
She also sent a message saying, "I've been watching over some of the members since they were in the fourth or fifth grade of elementary school, and as a result of seven years of carefully accumulating lessons and live performances, their performance skills have improved dramatically. And the dignified expressions they show in small moments are very reassuring. I hope that this moment in their growth as people and as idols will resonate with the hearts of those who listen to their music."
The title track of their first album, "Suki de Suki de Suki dakara," which they performed at the live concert, is an up-tempo killer tune. The chorus includes clapping moves, and the excitement in the venue reached its peak as the band members danced enthusiastically.
The album will be released on November 23rd and will include a total of 14 songs, including four new songs. Album release events are scheduled to be held on September 13th at Studio ACT (Kita-ku, Osaka), and on October 4th and November 23rd at Entaba Akihabara (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).
