This light novel is amazing! It has been announced that a new TV anime adaptation of the light novel "Magical Girl Raising Project" (published by Takarajimasha), titled "Magical Girl Raising Project Restart," will be broadcast in 2026. This will be the first new TV anime in about 10 years since the TV anime aired from October to December 2016. A teaser trailer showcasing the charms of the magical girls has also been released.
Director Hashimoto Hiroyuki commented, "I'm Hashimoto Hiroyuki, and I've been asked to continue as animation director this time as I did last time. It's been almost 10 years since the original series was last broadcast, and I'm really happy to be involved in the 'Magical Girl Raising Project' anime again. Just like the original, this time too, the human relationships of many characters are intricately intertwined, so I hope you'll look forward to seeing how that plays out in the anime. It's always difficult to adapt 'Mahoiku' into an anime (laughs), but it's still a rewarding project and I have a lot of fun making it. I hope you'll look forward to the broadcast."
Takao Yoshioka, series composition and scriptwriter, said, "I am very happy to be involved with 'Magical Girl Raising Project' again. It is reassuring to be able to work with Director Hashimoto again as we did with the previous film, and my work as series composition and scriptwriter has already been completed. This time, 'restart' features a different setting from the previous film, and new, fascinating characters that will move the story forward significantly. The mystery-like development is thrilling, and there were many parts that I felt would be difficult to visualize, but I sought to find a form that could only be expressed in anime. I am sure that the results of this challenge will be enjoyed by both fans of the original work and those who are experiencing it for the first time. I hope you look forward to the broadcast."
Character designer Masako Ito commented, "I've been asked to design the animation characters for 'Magical Girl Raising Project: Restart.' This is the first time I've been entrusted with the role of character designer, so I'm very nervous. I've been involved with 'Mahoiku' since the original series (I worked as an SD character designer in the original), so it's a memorable project for me, and I'm very happy to be able to take part again. All of Maruino-sensei's characters are charming and cute, so I did my best to recreate them as much as possible in the anime."
At the large-scale anime song live event "Animelo Summer Live (Anisama) 2025 'ThanXX!'" held at Saitama Super Arena (Chuo Ward, Saitama City) from August 29th to 31st, Minori Chihara gave her first performance of the opening theme song "No tears here."
Kayahara said, "Once again, congratulations on the TV anime adaptation of 'Magical Girl Raising Project Restart'. I played the role of the Demon Lord Pam in the reading play of 'Mahoiku', and I have been given the opportunity to perform the opening theme song again. The title is 'No tears here'. The lyrics are by Hata Aki, and the music and arrangement are by Q-MHz. I created the song by superimposing my current self onto the fighting magical girls and non-fighting magical girls. The song is already complete, but its release will be a while off. I hope you will look forward to it along with the broadcast of the anime. I am looking forward to that moment, along with everyone else."
The story is about magical girls who are chosen by a magical kingdom and given powers, but are then tossed about by a cruel fate and fight for their lives.
