The fourth episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama " The 19th medical record " (Sundays at 9pm), starring Jun Matsumoto , will be broadcast on August 10th.
In the previous episode, popular announcer Yoshikazu Hotta ( Kenjiro Tsuda) was diagnosed with hypopharyngeal cancer and was recommended surgery by surgeon Kojiro Togo (Mackenyu). However, he refused the surgery, fearing that it would affect his voice, an important tool for his work. He went to the general medicine department for a second opinion.
Hotta decided to undergo surgery after a conversation with Tokushige (Matsumoto). He revealed he had cancer on his show and announced he would be taking a break for a while. "To be honest, I'm scared," he admitted, but he also greeted viewers by saying, "Even if I were to lose my voice, we would still be able to communicate with each other. Now that I've come to think that way, I feel like I've finally taken a step forward."
In episode 4... After being diagnosed with diabetes during a health check, Anjo Kota (Hamano Kenta) is visiting an internal medicine clinic accompanied by his wife, Sachi (Kurashina Kana). Sachi has been supporting her husband by strictly managing her diet. However, six months have passed and Kota's test results have not improved. Kota acts as if it is someone else's problem and is reluctant to pursue treatment. Growing increasingly frustrated, Sachi complains to the hospital, saying that his doctor, Kayama (Hiroya Shimizu), is giving him poor advice.
Shikayama, who hates troublesome matters, leaves the examination entirely to the general medicine department, saying, "I would hate to have my reputation lowered."
Upon receiving the request, Tokushige proposes that "Kayama will examine Kota, and Takino (played by Fuka Koshiba) will examine Sachi." However, Takino does not get along with Kayama, who looks down on general practitioners, and an argument ensues.
The rift between the Anjo couple only grows wider...
The original work is the manga "The 19th medical record Tokushige's Medical Interview" (Core Mix) by Katsuhito Fujiya. It depicts a general practitioner who lends a helping hand to patients' lifestyles. The script is written by Aya Tsubota, who has also worked on the "Kounodori" series (TBS).
