The sixth and final episode of the anime "Takopi's Original Sin," based on the manga by Taizan 5 that was serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+," began streaming on August 2nd. The first episode began streaming on June 28th, and caused a huge stir, becoming the number one trending topic on X. The anime is produced by TBS Television, but the fact that it was streamed online rather than broadcast on television also attracted attention. A visual to commemorate the anime's conclusion, "Final PV - To You in 2016," has been released.
The visual commemorating the completion of the series features Tacopi smiling, crying, and waving, along with the key item, the reconciliation ribbon. The final PV is a video looking back at all six episodes, and features the ending theme of episode 6, "Glass Line," by "Tele."
It was also announced that the anime's original soundtrack will be available for download from August 13th. On August 24th, a retrospective of all episodes will be streamed on some streaming platforms, including Niconico Live Broadcasting.
The original manga was serialized in Shonen Jump+ from December 2021 to March 2022, and despite being a short-running series, it recorded the highest number of views of any work serialized at the same time. The story follows Tacopee, a Happy Alien who comes to Earth and meets Shizuka Kuze, a girl who never smiles, and uses his magical Happy Gadgets to bring back Shizuka's smile. The manga has also attracted attention for its depiction of the harsh realities of elementary school students, including issues at school and at home, and has become so popular that the total number of copies published has exceeded 1.45 million, despite only having two volumes.
