The third episode of the drama series "Broadcasting Station Occupy" (NTV, Saturdays at 9 PM), starring Sakurai Sho, aired on July 26th. The true identity of Amabie, a member of the armed group "Yokai" that occupied the broadcasting station, was revealed. The reason for his hatred towards one of the hostages, Tokyo gubernatorial candidate Mikawa Ryutaro (Kitadai Takashi), was also revealed, sparking a stir on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers.
The demons who have taken over the broadcasting station demand that Musashi (played by Sakurai) expose Mikawa's dark secrets. If he doesn't do so within two hours, Mikawa will be immersed in boiling water and burned to death.
Musashi, eager to uncover the truth, confronts Fukue (Okabe Hisashi), a staff member at the soccer school where Mikawa is the representative. Fukue replies in fear, "It's my fault that that child was killed by Kokkuri-san!"
Musashi then learns that a year ago, an elementary school student attending the soccer school that Mikawa represents jumped to his death. Musashi discovers that Mikawa abused Tsukumi Reo, a student at the soccer school, and drove him to suicide.
Musashi then pointed out that Amabie was actually Reo's mother, Sayuki, who hated Mikawa, and revealed that Amabie was played by Tomosaka Rie. "You figured it out," Sayuki said, pointing a gun at Mikawa, and Reo revealed that he started playing soccer because he admired Mikawa.
Furthermore, a video was released in which Reo expressed his gratitude and apology to Sayuki at the end of the show. "Please, stop," Mikawa pleaded, and Sayuki, with tears in her eyes, screamed, "Feel that girl's pain!" Mikawa apologized live, saying, "I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry."
When Amabie's true identity was revealed, social media erupted with comments of surprise, such as "The person inside Amabie is shocking!", "Tomosaka Rie!", and "That's shocking! So shocking!". Also, when Sayuki vents her anger by pointing a gun at Mikawa, comments such as "Her angry expression is amazing," "Her acting is so good," "Her acting is so realistic... as expected," "You can really feel the mother's feelings," "I was drawn in just watching," and "Her passionate performance made me tear up, unexpectedly."
