Kunio Murai will appear on the July 30 episode of "Tetsuko's Room"

80-year-old actor Kunio Murai and his wife, 75-year-old actress Mikiko Otonashi, will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 pm on July 30th. The couple are celebrating 50 years of marriage.

Six years ago, Murai's condition suddenly worsened at home, and his heart stopped twice while he was in the ambulance. Otonashi accompanied him to the hospital, but Murai refused surgery because he was in the middle of a performance. Otonashi was at a loss as to how to persuade him, but a doctor who was there at the time said something that finally led to him undergoing surgery. Thanks to the treatment, Murai is now full of energy, has returned to the stage, and is enjoying every day.
