That night, thinking of Kamaji, Kusakichi touches the kiln and bows deeply. The next morning, Kusakichi has disappeared.
Meanwhile, Nobu, who had been asked by the congresswoman Maki Tetsuko (Toda Keiko) to help her with her work, finally decided to go to Tokyo. He declared, "I'm going to Tokyo," in front of his family and Takashi (Takumi Kitamura), who was also there. Takashi was shocked, but Hatako (Noriko Eguchi) smiled and said, "You two came at a good time."
Attracted by the delicious smell, Nobu and Taka head towards the stone oven, where Kusakichi is baking Anpan . Kusakichi prefaces the dish by saying, "The sake type and ingredients are different, so I can't guarantee the taste," and then serves up the freshly baked bean-jam Anpan , saying, "Come on, come on, these are bean-jam Anpan in memory of Kamajii." Nobu, Taka, and the Asada family smile as they taste Kusakichi's bread for the first time in a long time.
