Actor Koichi Sato will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) on July 14th at 1pm. He made his debut at the age of 19 and has been an actor for 45 years this year. We will be introducing footage of an interview with someone who knew Sato around the time he was born.
He says that now in his 60s he is the busiest he has been. In April, he celebrated the 13th anniversary of his father, actor Rentaro Mikuni's death, and many people related to him gathered to hear his father's stories. At the memorial, his son Kanichiro, who is now an actor, also gave a speech. He also spoke about his feelings about walking the same path as three generations of his father and son.
Recently, the couple has been working with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "Friend Home" program, serving as foster parents on weekends. They will talk about how to interact with children and the volunteer events they attend at child welfare facilities. There will also be a surprise guest appearance.
