Pre-orders for the Gundam model kit "HG 1/144 Messer F02 Type Mine Layer Equipped" (Bandai Spirits), based on the theatrical anime Mobile Suit Gundam: Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash series, began on July 10th on Bandai Namco Group's shopping site Premium Bandai, and it has become a hot topic for "instantly selling out." The Gundam model kit is based on the Messer, the main machine of the anti-Earth Federation government organization, the Mufti, and while Gundam models of the same machine have been released before, this one is unique in that it is equipped with a Mine Layer. But what exactly is a Messer?

" Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash Hathaway's Flash " is a three-part series, with the first part being released in June 2021. It was also announced in June that the second part, "Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Witch of Circe," will be released this winter, which has become a hot topic. Meanwhile, a new Gundam model based on " Hathaway's Flash" was announced for the first time in a long time, causing a great deal of excitement.
The Messer is an MS (Mobile Suit) that excels at guerrilla warfare in cooperation with the Galseson sub-flight system, and Messer F01 and Messer F02 appear in "Hathaway's Flash." The F02 is an F01 with lifting flares added to its legs, improving its ground hover duration. Both are used as the main units of the Mufti, and are used according to the battle situation and purpose. There is also a Messer F Naked commander unit equipped with a blade antenna on the head and enhanced communication functions.
The Messer was developed by Anaheim Electronics (AE) as a mobile suit related to the former Neo Zeon series such as the Geara Doga and Sazabi. Its rounded shape, monoeye, and shoulder spikes indicate that it is a Zeon-type mobile suit.
AE, also known as the "Merchant of Death," provides mobile suits to both the Earth Federation and the terrorist group Mufti. The air intakes on the chest appear to be characteristic of Earth Federation mobile suits, and various devices are borrowed from Earth Federation mobile suits.

So far, Gunpla of the Messer F01, Messer F02, and F02 (Commander's model) have been released, but the "HG 1/144 Messer F02 Minelayer Equipped," which has been the talk of the town for selling out instantly, is characterized by the fact that it is equipped with a minelayer unit for bombing on the vectored tail stabilizer.
Although it was "sold out immediately," Premium Bandai's Gunpla sometimes accepts second reservations, so if you missed out, keep an eye out. New "Hathaway's Flash" products should also be announced in preparation for the release of Part 2, so there's hope.
