The first episode of the TV drama "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays 9pm), starring actor Takumi Saito, was broadcast on July 8th, drawing attention to a mysterious man in a black suit.
◇The following contains spoilers.
This is an "involvement-type human mystery" based on the drama of the same name (2023) that became a hot topic in Korea. The story depicts the escape of Shinjo Masamune (Saito), who kidnapped the hospital director's daughter at the behest of his wife Shiori (Yumi Adachi) in order to raise money for their seriously ill daughter's surgery, and the hospital director's daughter, the amnesiac genius girl Nanase Rin (Yuno Nagao), who is being pursued by unidentified men.
In the first episode, Masamune easily succeeded in kidnapping Rin, but Rin lost her memory, and her parents, who were supposed to demand a ransom, were murdered by someone. Masamune became not only a kidnapper, but also a murder suspect. Furthermore, an unidentified delivery man (Yahagi Masaru) attacked Rin in an attempt to take her away... and so the story unfolded.
What caught the attention of viewers was the mysterious man in black, Gouki Samezu. On social media, there were many comments such as "Who is the man in black and sunglasses?", "The black suit is too suspicious", "Who is the man in all black?" and "Is the man in sunglasses the mastermind?"
Samezu will be played by actor Ei Shin, who has appeared in numerous dramas and films, including the role of Akabane (Oyama Masaru) in the special effects drama "Kamen Rider Build," the role of Asahina Yoshihide in the NHK historical drama "The 13 Lords of the Shogun," and the role of Hi Shin Unit's Koren in the film "Kingdom."
