Goodbye Lala 2026 broadcast

It has been announced that Kinema Citrus' 15th anniversary original anime "Goodbye Lala" will be broadcast as a TV anime in 2026. Based on the theme of "The Little Mermaid," the story will be about a mermaid princess who is resurrected in Lake Biwa 200 years later, and it has also been announced that Hana Hishikawa will be the voice actor for the main character, Lala.

The second teaser visual, which shows the mermaid princess Lara shedding tears, was also released. Postcards featuring the visual will be distributed to participants in the "Lake Biwa Cleanup Campaign (Hospitality Cleanup)" to be held in the Otsu area on "Lake Biwa Day" on July 1.

Hishigawa commented, "When I saw the storyboard in the audition materials, I was attracted to this work not only as an actor but also as a person, and I really wanted to enter that world. I am really happy to have been chosen and to be able to live as Lara. I look forward to having fun together with everyone. I look forward to working with you all!"

The anime is directed by Shiga-born Takashi Koide, making his directorial debut, with Kawahara Anna in charge of series composition, Tani Shiori in charge of character design, and Yuma Yamaguchi in charge of music.
