It has been announced that Ano-san, also known as "Ano-chan," and Soshina from the comedy duo "Sgt. Frog" will be appearing as voice actors in the new theatrical anime film "Sgt. Frog: The New Movie - Sgt. Sgt. Frog Revives and Immediately Faces the Crisis of Earth's Destruction!", based on the popular manga by Mine Yoshizaki. Ano-san, under the name "ano," is in charge of the theme song "Kashippanashi Destiny," and as "ano & Soshina," she and Soshina are in charge of the opening theme "Keroro! March Returns Again," and will now also be appearing as voice actors. It has also been announced that Shinobu Hasegawa from the comedy duo "Sissonne" will be in charge of the narration.
Ano, who plays the researcher robot, commented, "I never thought I'd be able to participate, so I was incredibly happy. It was an honor! I didn't have many lines, but I was so happy to be a part of the Keroro series, even just a little! Please go to the theater and check it out."
Regarding the opening theme, she commented, "Since this is the Reiwa version, I wanted to incorporate a bit of the current feeling, so I came up with a lot of lyric ideas. It's a song I really love, so I was happy to actually be able to sing it, and since I've listened to it so many times, I felt like I was able to enjoy the recording. It's really good. I'm confident! Personally, I was wondering how Soshina's version would turn out, but when I heard it, it was really good. It was even better than I expected!"
Shina, who plays a man from Shibuya who becomes obsessed with a yokai, said, "Even just looking at the scenes before and after the one I appeared in, the Keroro style was in full force, so I thought, 'As expected!' and had a great time. People who are seeing ' Sgt. Frog' for the first time in the Reiwa era will enjoy it, and of course, for those who watched it back then, it's truly back, so please come to the theater and enjoy it."
Regarding the opening theme, he said, "Ano-chan was wonderful. Her voice suited 'Kero! to March' perfectly. It's not the perfect solution for the Reiwa era, but it's a wonderful song, and I'm really glad I listened to it. I also got to sing a bit of the solo part that Nobuaki Tsunoda sang back then, and it was very moving. I tried to sing the first half like Mr. Tsunoda and the second half like Soshina. I really want everyone to listen to the full version. For the spoken part at the end, I recorded two versions, 'Arashita~' and 'Tadaa,' so please look forward to seeing which one was used."
Hasegawa, who will be providing the narration, said, "When I was asked to narrate this great anime that will be passed down to future generations, I was both excited and nervous at the same time. I will do my best not to tarnish the path that our predecessors have created. I hope that people of all ages, and especially parents and children who will be watching this anime together that they watched when they were children, will enjoy it."
The new animated film will be directed and written by Yuichi Fukuda, known for the drama series "Yusha Yoshihiko" and the film series "Gintama." Fumitoshi Oizaki, who was in charge of character design for the TV series, will direct the film, and Satoshi Koike, who also worked on the TV series, will be in charge of character design. BN Pictures will produce the animation. This will be the first animated film in the "Sgt. Frog the Movie: The Birth of the Ultimate Keroro - The Miracle Space-Time Island!!" released in 2010. It will be released on June 26th.
"Sgt. Frog. Frog" is a gag manga depicting the daily life of Keroro, an alien based on a frog who aims to invade Earth, as he spends time at the home of a young Earth boy named Fuyuki. The one-shot "Sgt. Frog" was published in "Bessatsu Newtype" (KADOKAWA) in 1998, and the serialization began in "Monthly Shonen Ace" (also KADOKAWA) in 1999. The TV anime aired from April 2004 to March 2011 for about seven years, and the series has been adapted into a wide range of media, including five theatrical anime films.
