Actress Tao Tsuchiya appeared at an event for the theatrical anime film "Soreike! Anpanman: Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi" (directed by Hiroyuki Yano), which will be released on June 26, at the Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum (Nishi Ward, Yokohama City) on May 14. At the event, she said, "It feels like a dream. I've loved Anpanman since I was little. Now, my child and I get courage and energy from Anpanman in both happy times and times when we want to cry. I'm grateful."
On New Year's Day 2023, Tsuchiya announced her marriage to Ryota Katayose of the dance and vocal group "GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE" and her pregnancy. In August of the same year, she announced the birth of her first child.
"Pantan and the Promised Star" is the 37th film in the Anpanman theatrical film series. The story follows Pantan, a red panda traveler who is turned into a child after being sprayed with Baikinman's baby spray, as he sets out for the "Rainbow Star" to keep an important promise.
In keeping with the story, when asked what she would do if she could become a child, she said, "I would like to come and play at the Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum. (It wasn't there when I was a child.) I would like to spray my older sister and younger brother with baby spray and play pretend."
Tsuchiya provided the voice for Pantan. Rintaro from the comedy duo "EXIT" voiced Amagumora, the cloud monster that attacks Pantan and Anpanman, and Daiki Kanechika from EXIT voiced Cutie Bird Robo.
On this day, the duo "EXIT," "Dreaming," Keiko Toda, Anpanman, Baikinman, Creampanda, Dokin-chan, and Kokin-chan also made appearances. Nippon Television announcer Noa Iwamoto served as the MC.
The event, titled "Let's Embark on an Adventure Together! Departure Event," saw attendees and parents and children gathered at the venue declare the start of a "new adventure." The group "Dreaming" performed the theme song, "Anpanman's March."
