It has been announced that the second part of the popular anime "Gundam" series' theatrical anime "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash" (directed by Murase Shukou) will be titled "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash: The Witch of Circe" and will be released this winter. A teaser trailer featuring Hathaway Noah, Gigi Andalusia, Kenneth Sleg, Lane Aim, and others has been released on YouTube. It has been announced that "Hathaway's Flash" will be made into three parts, with the first part being released in June 2021.
Like the first part, the second part will be directed by Murase Shukou, who has also directed "In This Genocidal Organ," and will feature voice actors such as Kensho Ono as Hathaway, Reina Ueda as Gigi Andalusia, Junichi Suwabe as Kenneth Slegg, and Soma Saito as Lane Aim.
"Hathaway's Flash" is based on a novel published in 1989-90 by Director Yoshiyuki Tomino, known as the "father" of the "Gundam" series. Set in the year 0105 of the Universal Century, the story depicts Hathaway, the son of Bright Noa, who experienced a bitter separation during the Second Neo Zeon War, piloting a new mobile suit, the XI Gundam, in a rebellion against the Earth Federation government. The first part was a hit, grossing approximately 2.23 billion yen.
It was announced in September 2021 that the title of the second part would be "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash: Son of Bright" (tentative title), but no new information had been released since then. It has been about four years since the last new information was announced, revealing the title and release date.
