The TV drama series "PJ: Air Rescue Team" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), starring actor Seiyo Uchino, aired its final episode on June 19th, featuring some scenes that made viewers laugh.
◇The following contains spoilers.
The drama was produced with the full cooperation of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and depicts students aspiring to become pararescue jumpers (commonly known as PJs, or pararescue jumpers) for the Air Self-Defense Force's elite rescue unit, known as the "last bastion of saving lives," as they undergo rigorous training under the strict and unconventional instructor, Usami (Uchino).
In the final episode, the 65th class of students aiming to become rescuers took on the parachute training, the final stage of the rescuer course. All remaining students, Sawai (Fuju Kamio), Shirakawa (Kentaro Maeda), Nishitani (Kusama Richard Keita), Tokairin (Atsuhiro Inukai), and Kondo (Maeda Oshiro), safely completed the rescuer course. The graduation ceremony was held while their classmates Fujiki (Anna Ishii) and Hasebe (Aoto Watanabe), who had declined, looked on... and so it unfolded.
After the graduation ceremony, all the students of the 65th class, including Fujiki and Hasebe, came to Usami. They all rolled up their T-shirts at once to reveal Usami's face, and they all shouted, "Bravo!", just like Usami. Then Usami rolled up his T-shirt to reveal his own face, and the students were shocked, exclaiming, "Eh!" Usami replied, "Bravo, too!", and laughed with the students.
On social media, viewers were quick to comment, "Closing with Robert Akiyama lol", "Whaaat!!! LOL! As expected of Instructor Usami", "Chief Instructor Usami is in casual clothes??? Huh???", "So the instructor was wearing that too lol", "Why did the instructor already have it lol", and "So funny that the instructor had the instructor T-shirt too."
