It has been revealed that Tatsuya Fukazawa of the popular group "Snow Man" will be appearing in the drama series "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm) which starts on July 8th. He will have a black hair makeover and will be taking on his first role as a lawyer.
The film is based on the 2023 Korean drama of the same name. The film follows the story of the kind-hearted but clumsy kidnapper Shinjo Masamune, played by Takumi Saito, and the amnesiac genius girl Nanase Rin, played by child actor Yuno Nagao, as they go on the run while being pursued by unidentified men.
Fukasawa plays lawyer Yamazaki Tadashi, a former private tutor who used to frequent Rin's home. He serves as a legal adviser to the hospital where Rin's father is the director. He is always calm and collected, and does not reveal his true feelings. He becomes a key person who will determine the fate of Shinjo and Rin.
Fukasawa commented, "He's a cool and serious elite. But as I read the script, I get the sense that he's a person who is starved for love... I can't say much at this point, but I think that as the story progresses, everyone will understand why he is starved for love. Yamazaki doesn't show his emotions, so when his expression changes, it's the moment when something inside him moves. I want to portray his inner movements delicately."
Regarding his first role as a lawyer, he said, "I changed my hair color from light to black. The look of black hair, a sharp suit, glasses, and a lawyer's badge is fresh for me, and I think it will be fresh for my fans as well. But I never thought the day would come when I'd be putting on a lawyer's badge. I thought it was the profession furthest from me (laughs)."
He appealed to viewers, saying, "Normally, dramas have the image of having waves that run through all the episodes, but with this work, huge waves come crashing in with each episode.I think you'll enjoy the series all the way to the end with plenty of suspense, so be sure to watch it."
