A special video of season 2 of the Hollywood live-action drama series based on Eiichiro Oda's popular manga "ONE PIECE," which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), was released on YouTube, showcasing the popular character Tony Tony Chopper. Mikaela Hoover will be in charge of Chopper's voice and facial capture. It was also announced that season 2 will be exclusively distributed worldwide on Netflix in 2026.
Original author Oda wrote a handwritten comment, saying, "The key to Season 2 of the Hollywood live-action One Piece is, of course, that unusual beast!! The entire staff went through repeated trial and error, and the day has finally come when you can see it!! The form, fur, movements, expressions, voice, lighting, and expression of gravity!! Tony Tony Chopper has come into this world thanks to the skills of our top-notch staff, and he is finally making his world debut!! Please take a look!!"
In the special video, Chopper suddenly appears in response to the call of Inaki Godoy, who plays Luffy, who says, "You're hiding weird! You're completely visible. Come over here!". He introduces himself as "I'm Tony Tony Chopper, sorry I couldn't meet you in person," and then remembers, "Oh, I was supposed to talk about ONE PIECE Season 2." However, he accidentally falls down a step and panics, saying, "Ouch! Doctor!", but then he realizes, "Oh... it's me," and announces, "Season 2 will begin streaming in 2026. New friends and enemies will appear! And me too." In response to the applause from those around him, he says, "Shut up, I don't need your applause, you bastard! Seriously," but he still has a big smile on his face and performs a dance.
The live-action drama will be produced by Hollywood's Tomorrow Studios, which has produced dramas such as "Cowboy Bebop" and "Snowpiercer," with Oda, the original author, participating as executive producer. Godoy will play Luffy and Mackenyu will play Zoro. Other cast members include Emily Rudd as Usopp, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
Season 1 began streaming on Netflix in August 2023. Set in Luffy's hometown, the East Blue, it depicts the battle between Luffy and his friends and rough pirates such as Buggy and Arlong, as well as the origins of the Straw Hat Pirates' adventure. Season 2 will depict the journey to Rogue Town, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, Drum Island, and the Alabasta Kingdom.
