It has been revealed that singer Kobayashi Sachiko will be appearing as a voice actor in the film version of Miss Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid : The Lonely Dragon, an anime adaptation of the manga by Cool Kyou Shinja. Kobayashi will play Felicitas, a dragon in Kimun Kamui's army who is the leader of a small force. Kobayashi has also been in the spotlight for performing the ending theme song for the film, "Our Days," and will be appearing as a voice actor. The announcement was made at an event for the film held on May 26th.
Kobayashi commented, "Thanks to everyone, I, Kobayashi Sachiko, will have been working for 61 years this June. During that time I have had the opportunity to do a variety of jobs, including voice acting, but this was my first time playing the role of a dragon. It was a lot of fun! Speaking of dragons, they appear in many different worlds, but the pictures in 'Miss Kobayashi' are gentle and warm, and it made me feel very fuzzy. It's a truly wonderful movie and anime. I hope you will watch it and feel warm inside."
It was also announced that stage greetings for the film will be held on June 26th, the day before the film's release, as well as on four consecutive days on the 27th, 28th, and 29th. On June 26th, it will be held at Marunouchi Piccadilly (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), with Maria Naganawa Maria, Kuwahara Yuki, Kobayashi, and director Ishihara Tatsuya appearing on stage. On June 27th, it will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), with Tamura Mutsumi and director Ishihara appearing on stage. On June 28th, it will be held at TOHO Cinemas Kinshicho (Sumida-ku, Tokyo), TOHO Cinemas Ueno (Taito-ku, Tokyo), and MOVIX Saitama (Omiya-ku, Saitama City), with Naganawa, Tamura, Kuwahara, Sugiura Shiori, and director Ishihara appearing on stage.
The event will be held at Marunouchi Piccadilly on June 29th, and will feature Tamura, Kuwahara, Takahashi Minami, Sugiura, Yuichi Nakamura, Daisuke Ono, Ishihara Kaori, Emiri Kato, Fumihiko Tachiki, and Director Ishihara. The stage greeting on the same day will be live-viewed at theaters nationwide.
The movie version will be produced by Kyoto Animation, just like the TV anime, and will be directed by Ishihara, who also directed the second season of the TV anime, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S. This will be the first time the movie version of the series has been produced. It will be released on June 27th.
Miss Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid began serialization in Monthly Action (Futabasha) in 2013 and is currently being serialized in Manga Action (same publisher). The story follows Tohru, a dragon girl who lives with Kobayashi, a female office worker, as a maid, as she struggles to help Kobayashi and causes all sorts of trouble. The first season of the TV anime aired from January to April 2017, and the second season aired from July to September 2021.
