The drama is based on the manga of the same name (by Nishika Hachi) currently being serialized on the manga app "Comic DAYS." It depicts the love story that begins in 1936, when Natsumi, who was suddenly proposed to and married on zero days after dating, and Ebata Takimasa, who works for the Imperial Navy, begin their married life together.
"I'm sorry about earlier. I've never been called 'sir' before, so I didn't realise. So, you can call me by my... name."
Natsumi becomes flustered by Takitakado's offer, saying, "When you say name, you mean the first name, right?" and "I've never called a man by his first name in my life!"
Natsumi pretended to be calm and said, "Oh, I understand. Umm, then, well..." as she fidgeted, saying the letter "ta". However, in the end, she was unable to call him by his name, so she suggested to Takimasa, "If that's the case, then please call me by my name too."
When Natsumi suggested this to him, Takimasa couldn't hide his confusion and said, "Eh? Th-that's..." Although he said "what," he couldn't call Natsumi by her name and instead said, "...I see, I understand."
"I thought he would call me by my name," Natsumi says nervously, but thinks, "Before he calls me by my name, I have to call him properly!" Meanwhile, Takimasa is devastated, thinking, "Calling him by his name is impossible," but resolves, "Since I was the one who brought it up, I have to call him properly!" The story depicts the naive and awkward relationship between the two.
On social media, comments such as, "It's been a while since I've seen such a soothing drama. It warmed my heart," "It's so innocent," "This drama is great. It's been a while since I've wanted to watch a drama every week! It's so pure and great! I love it!", "I can't wait to see how these two pure and cute characters will get closer in the future," "They get so embarrassed just by calling each other's names, it's so great!" and "This drama is super funny, the vibe between the two of them is the best."
There were also comments expressing anticipation, such as "'Bright Waves, Beautiful Weather for Meos' is so good. I want Thursday to come soon," and "I look forward to every Thursday."
