The 21st episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " starring Mio Imada (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others) was broadcast on April 28. In the episode, viewers were overwhelmed by the performance of Kumi Takiuchi , who plays Nobu's (Imada) homeroom teacher Yukiko Kuroi , with comments such as "incredibly powerful" and "too scary."
In the 21st episode, in 1936, Nobu is sent off by her family and Takashi (played by Takumi Kitamura) and moves into the dormitory of the Women's Normal School. On her first day at school, her homeroom teacher Kuroi asks, "I want you all to become female teachers who will be role models for Japanese women. Are you ready?" He then tells them, "After two years of training here, you will become teachers. Your role is very important in raising children who will carry the future of Japan. Keep that in mind."
In the tense atmosphere, Kuroi asks Nobu, "Tell me what you're prepared to do." When Nobu replies, "I've been able to come here thanks to the support of my whole family. I intend to spare no effort to live up to that," Kuroi sternly tells her, "That's foolish! Your tuition fees are paid by the government. If you're not prepared to serve your country, leave."
Comments on social media about Takiuchi's acting included, "She's already a strong character," "It reminded me of 'Queen's Classroom,'" "Mr Kuroi is so powerful. Just standing there is intimidating. Just opening his eyes wide is seriously scary," and "Kumi Takiuchi's commanding acting was amazing!"
