It has been revealed that actor Fuka Koshiba , who played the role of the courtesan Segawa in the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND ," will co-star with Takeru Satoh in the Amazon Original drama "Marry My Husband," which will be released on June 27. The protagonist, played by Koshiba, is betrayed by her best friend and husband, and travels back in time to vow to take revenge on the cool department chief, played by Sato, in this joint Japan-Korea project.

The original work is a Naver web novel of the same name, which was made into a web comic and a live-action drama in Korea. It is the first Japanese video project to be planned by a collaboration between CJ ENM, a major Korean entertainment company that produced the Academy Award-winning film "Parasite," and Studio Dragon, a Korean production company known for "Crash Landing on You" and other works.

The protagonist Kobe Misa (Koshiba), who has always lived a life of a "supporting character" because she is too kind and always puts others first, believes in her best friend and husband and continues to do her best, but she loses her life due to their betrayal. However, she suddenly realizes that she has traveled back in time to 10 years ago. Misa plans revenge to ruin her former best friend and husband, but her encounter with Suzuki Wataru (Sato), a department manager with whom she had no connection in her first life, brings about a new change in Misa's heart as she seeks revenge...

Additionally, Shiraishi Sei will play Misa's childhood friend and only close friend, Esaka Reina, while Yokoyama Yu from the popular group "SUPER EIGHT" will play Misa's first husband, Hirano Tomoya.

The screenplay is written by Oshima Satomi, who won the Best Screenplay Award at the 48th Japan Academy Awards for the film "90 Years Old. What's So Celebratory?", and the film will be directed by Ahn Gil-ho, known for "The Glory" and other films.

Koshiba commented, "Misa vows revenge and grows stronger, but I tried to portray her as someone Wataru can't leave alone, someone he wants to help, someone who is too straightforward and kind and therefore conflicted about her revenge, and someone he wants to root for." Sato said, "The story has been developed to retain the good parts of the original and further enhance its appeal. The second half of the story is unique to the original Japanese version, so even those who have already seen it will enjoy the suspenseful experience."

The Amazon Original drama "Marry My Husband" consists of 10 episodes and will be released on Prime Video from June 27th, with two episodes every Friday for five weeks.

◇Comment from Fuka Koshiba(protagonist, Misa Kobe)

It was very refreshing to be able to work with the Korean director and team, and to experience a different atmosphere and experiences on set than I had before.

The script combines the interesting parts of the original work with a Japanese sensibility, and although the story is about revenge, it conveys Misa's own kindness and strength. Misa vows to get revenge and grows stronger, but I tried to portray her as someone who is too straightforward and kind, which makes her hard to get revenge on, and makes Wataru want to help her. I tried to portray a woman you can't leave alone, and want to help her. I'll do my best to make it enjoyable for everyone, so please look forward to the release.

◇Comment from Takeru Satoh(role of Wataru Suzuki)

I often watch director Ahn Gil-ho's work, and I am very happy to have had the opportunity to work with him on this project. On set, we hardly felt any communication barriers due to language differences, and it was a very fulfilling environment where we were able to understand each other in ways other than words.

The character Wataru lives to protect Misa's life. This time, I played the role while keeping that core in mind. The second half of the story has elements unique to the Japanese version, so even those who have already seen it will be thrilled and enjoyable. Please look forward to the release.

◇Comment from Sei Shiraishi (role of Reina Esaka)

I have been watching Director Ahn Gil-ho's work for a long time, so I am really happy to be directed by him this time and I am grateful for having been given this valuable experience. Rena is a difficult character with many heavy scenes, but she made me feel the joy of acting, and I feel like I have discovered a side of myself that I didn't even know existed thanks to meeting Rena.

I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of footage it will be and what kind of reaction I will get from those who watch it. I hope this work will be loved by many people!

◇Comment from Yokoyama Yuu (role of Hirano Yuya)

The character I'm playing this time, Hirano Tomoya, is a type of role I've never played before, but he's also very obsessive, and it's difficult for me to understand the character.

This is a work that has received a tremendous response all over the world, and when I told people that I would be playing this role, they were very surprised and said, "You're going to play that role?!", and everyone was unanimous in saying they were looking forward to it.

Many aspects of the content are original to Japan, so we hope you will look forward to the release.

◇ Comment from Satomi Oshima (scriptwriter)

What if you could live your life a second time?

What if you could avoid an unfortunate fate by substituting someone else? The universal questions depicted in the original work are interesting, but many motifs unique to the Japanese version also appear. You'll feel tense and anxious, refreshed and relaxed, and even laugh out loud. I think it's a drama full of emotions. I hope you enjoy the passionate performances of the characters.

◇Comment from Keisuke Oishi (Country Manager, Prime Video Japan)

The Korean drama version of "Marry My Husband" achieved great success, recording the highest viewing figures of any Asian work among non-English content distributed worldwide on Prime Video last year (number of views in the four weeks after distribution). We have high hopes that this story, which has captured the hearts of customers around the world, will become even more appealing through the collaboration between talented Korean creators and a Japanese cast.
