"Akinaiseiden Kin to Gin" is set in the mid-Edo period and depicts the common people who work hard and use their wits to succeed in business, while incorporating a variety of customs. In Season 1, which aired in 2023, the main character Sachi (Koshiba) marries Tomozo (Leo Matsumoto), the sixth-generation owner of Gosuzuya, and begins selling "Hamahabutae" from New Year's as a desperate plan to revive the struggling Gosuzuya.
Season 2 is the "Edo Edition." It begins immediately after Season 1, with Sachi and Chizo expanding the store and realizing the dream of the previous owner of Gosuzuya, to open a store in Edo, but Sachi is hit by a series of sad events.
In the fourth episode, the people of Gosuzuya endure the sadness of losing the owner and continue to focus on their business. As Yuki (Koshiba) focuses on the business without shedding a tear, Yui (Nagasawa Tatsuki) becomes irritated and asks, "Doesn't your sister have a heart?!"
While his fellow kimono merchants are urging him to quickly decide on a successor, Sachi declares, "I will take over as the seventh generation." In Osaka, where women's names are prohibited and it is forbidden to become store owners or homeowners, Sachi stands up for the women who may take over as the next generation... and so the story unfolds.
