It has been revealed that voice actress Ayane Sakura will be making a guest appearance in the extended first episode (6-minute extended broadcast) of the drama series "Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), which begins on April 22nd. She will play the daughter of the patient who is the first to be diagnosed by the main character Ameku Takao (played by Kanna Hashimoto) in the drama.
Sakura played Takao in the TV anime version that aired from January to April this year, and will co-star with Hashimoto as "Takao". This will be his first time appearing in a drama as an actor since the Super Sentai series "Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger" (2023-2024).
Sakura explained why she accepted the offer, saying, "I'm a voice actor, and it's embarrassing (laughs), so I don't usually take on jobs that require me to show my face. But this time, I didn't feel embarrassed or nervous, it's just an exciting collaboration! I thought if there's anything I can do, I'd give it my best."
The drama is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Mikito Chinen, which has sold over 3.6 million copies in total and was also made into a TV anime. This is a full-scale medical mystery in which the diagnostician Takao, who has a transcendental brain and overwhelming knowledge and insight as a doctor, and the internist Yu Takanashi (Shohei Miura) brilliantly solve mysterious illnesses, murder cases, and even paranormal phenomena.
