It has been announced that the name of the new anime slot that ABC TV will be broadcasting on Sunday late at night from April will be "ANiMiDNiGHT!!! (AniMiNight)". The name was chosen through public submissions, and by deliberately reading "midnight" as "mi naito" (you have to watch anime), it conveys the message "You have to watch anime!" and the excitement of enjoying anime late at night. The logo design for the new anime slot will also be open to public submissions.
The station also has an anime slot called "ANiMAZiNG!!!" at 2 a.m. on Saturdays, when it currently airs "I'm the Evil Lord of an Interstellar Nation!", but has decided to set up a new anime slot.
The first of these is the new original anime "Food for the Soul," currently airing, with characters, story concept, and manga name created by Atto, the author of "Non Non Biyori."
