TV Tokyo's popular information variety show "Appearance! Ad Town Heaven" (Saturday 9pm) will feature Kameari in Tokyo on April 19th.
Kameari in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo, is the setting of the popular manga "Kochikame: This is the Kameari Police Station in Katsushika Ward." In addition to in front of JR Kameari Station, statues of the protagonist police officer Ryo-san, also known as Ryotsu Kankichi, and other characters are set up around the town. In addition, the "Kochikame Memorial Museum" opened in March this year, and the first floor is a reproduction of the Kameari Police Station just as it was in the manga.
The program will introduce Kochikame-related spots, such as the Kochikame Memorial Museum and the downtown public bathhouse that author Osamu Akimoto also frequented. It will also cover the scenes of the Ryo-san mascots patrolling the shopping district.
Other gourmet foods featured include super cheap takoyaki (octopus balls) for 550 yen for 30 pieces, a happy soup containing a whole hairy crab, 12 kinds of minced cutlets, cakes made by a "contemporary master craftsman" in the shrine grounds, a soba restaurant with beautiful voices echoing throughout the area, and special highballs from a motsuyaki restaurant.
The guests are former AKB48 member Tomu Muto and comedy duo Impossible.
