An event for the anime "Too Many Losing Heroines!", which is based on the light novel from Shogakukan Gagaga Bunko (Shogakukan), entitled "'Too Many Losing Heroines!' Tsuwabuki High School Literature Club Extracurricular Activities" was held on April 6th at FOSTER Hall (Akishima City, Tokyo), with appearances by Shuichiro Umeda, who plays Nukumizu Kazuhiko, Hikaru Tono, who plays Yanami Anna, Shion Wakayama, who plays Yakishio Lemon, Momoka Terasawa, who plays Komari Chika, and Minami Tanaka Minami, who plays Nukumizu Yoshiki.
The event started with a reading drama. There was also a guerrilla live performance by singer-songwriter Bocchiboromaru, who performed the anime's opening theme "Tsuyogaru Girl feat. Mossa (Necry Talkie)". The voice actors also sang songs from "Too many losing heroines! McCain support! Cover song collection".
At the event, it was also announced that a second season of the anime will be produced, and the voice actors shed tears of joy. Umeda, overcome with emotion, shouted, "Everyone, season 2 has been confirmed!"
Tono urged, "Everyone, please don't cheat on your series until the second season is broadcast!" Umeda said, holding back tears, "I was sad that it was ending, but when they decided on a second season and I thought I could still have fun with everyone, I felt like I could keep going. I hope we can continue to have fun together as we watch over the future of McCain and the others, and Nukumizu Kazuhiko."
"Too Many Losing Heroines!" is a light novel written by Amemori Takibi and illustrated by Imigimuru. It also became a hot topic when it was selected for the Gagaga Award at the 15th Shogakukan Light Novel Awards. The story depicts a slapstick coming-of-age story featuring "losing heroines" (McCains) such as the gluttonous childhood friend-type heroine Yanami Anna, the energetic sports-type heroine Yakishio Lemon, and the shy small animal-type heroine Komari Chika.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2024 and gained popularity. The first season was directed by Shotaro Kitamura and produced by A-1 Pictures. Fans also visited Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, where the series is set, creating a "pilgrimage" to the holy land.
