Actress Mizuki Yamashita appeared at the opening pitch ceremony for the professional baseball game between the Saitama Seibu Lions and the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, held at Belluna Dome (Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture) on June 10th.
Yamashita, who plays the lead role of Naruse Akari in the stage play "Naruse Goes to Conquer the World," appeared in a uniform with the number "1." She delivered the ball to the catcher's mitt with a high, arcing bounce.
Yamashita said, "I was nervous, but I was able to enjoy pitching while wearing the same number 1 uniform as Naruse Akari, the main character of 'Naruse Goes to Conquer the World.' I practiced in between work and before pitching today. I also received advice from the players, and they praised me, which I think helped me relax during practice."
He continued, "Belluna Dome is close to my hometown, and I have fond memories of being taken there by my parents when I was little, so it brought back nostalgic feelings. I'm going to dedicate this summer to Seibu!"
