Marugame Seimen will begin selling the new flavors of its udon-based "Marugame Udon Nuts" in "Strawberry Milk Flavor," "Soybean Flour Flavor," and "Mitarashi Flavor" at stores nationwide from April 15. Kaito Takahashi of the popular group "King & Prince" and Hokuto Matsumura of "SixTONES" have been appointed ambassadors for the product, and their first joint commercial will be aired nationwide from April 10.
Marugame Udonuts were born after three years of trial and error, taking advantage of the chewy texture that is a characteristic of Marugame Seimen's udon. Since its launch on June 25, 2024, cumulative sales have exceeded 13 million meals in about eight months. Until now, flavors have been varied with different flavors of powder that change with the seasons, but the newly released "Strawberry Milk Flavor" features a dipping sauce for the first time in addition to the powder. When the chewy udon nuts are covered in strawberry milk powder and dipped in a dipping sauce containing strawberry pulp, the flavor becomes richer and the sweet and sour taste spreads throughout your mouth.
Takahashi and Matsumura, who were appointed as ambassadors, appeared at the "Marugame Udonut New Product and Ambassador Announcement" held in Tokyo on April 10th. After tasting the new strawberry milk flavor, Takahashi said with a smile, "It's delicious! I want to make it with a dipping sauce from the beginning. I want a machine to make it at home." Matsumura commented, "The moment I put it in my mouth, I knew this sauce was really delicious. I added more sauce as quickly as possible. It might be best to try just the powder first, and then enjoy the dipping sauce later."
The strawberry milk flavor is priced at 350 yen, while the kinako and mitarashi flavors are priced at 300 yen. Both come in packs of five. In addition, a free advance sampling will be available for two days only, on April 12th and 13th. A pack of three strawberry milk flavors will be distributed from 11am to 7pm at the open atrium of MIYASHITA PARK in Shibuya, Tokyo.
