It has been revealed that the fifth season of the TV anime " The Rising of the Shield Hero, " based on the popular light novel from the novel submission site " Shosetsuka ni Naro, " will air in 2027. A teaser visual and teaser PV have been released showing Naofumi and the other Four Cardinal Heroes and the siblings Hakuko standing back to back.
Hitoshi Hawa, who is directing the series for the third and fourth seasons, commented, "I am honored to be given the opportunity to direct the fifth season as well. Naofumi and his group have been steadily preparing for the impending battle against the Phoenix, together with the other three heroes and new companions. All of us on the staff are working hard to create a series that everyone can fully enjoy as Naofumi and his friends embark on their new adventure. We hope you will wait a little longer until the broadcast."
" The Rising of the Shield Hero" is a light novel by Aneko Yusagi that originated on "Shosetsuka ni Naro" and is published by MF Books (KADOKAWA). The story follows Naofumi Iwatani, who is summoned to another world as the "Shield Hero," but is betrayed by his companions, loses his fame and fortune as a hero, and rises from the depths of despair.
The first season of the TV anime aired from January to June 2019, the second season from April to June 2022, the third season from October to December 2023, and the fourth season from July to September 2025.
