It has been announced that Aya Ogawa of the idol group "Nogizaka46" will appear in the drama series "Nami uraraka ni, Meoto biyori" (Fuji TV, Thursdays at 10pm) which starts on April 24th. Although Ogawa has experience in streaming dramas and musicals, this will be her first time appearing in a drama on terrestrial TV. She will play Sekiya Fuyuko, the younger sister of the main character played by lead actress Kyoko Yoshine.
The main character of this work, Natsumi (Yoshine), is the third of four sisters, and Fuyuko, played by Ogawa, is the youngest. Fuyuko attends an all-girls school and is carefree. Although she sometimes blurts out what she thinks, her cheerful personality has earned her many friends. While her friends rely on her, she also has a spoiled side in front of her family. She always relies on Natsumi's childhood friend, Seta Juntaro (Komiya Rio).
Ogawa commented, "It was like a dream come true when I heard that I would be stepping out of the group for the first time and taking on the challenge of appearing in a terrestrial TV drama, which I have always longed for. When I was on set, wearing the sailor uniform and having my hair styled like Fuyuko's, it really hit home that I was going to be appearing in this drama, and I got nervous. Nowadays, most uniforms have blazers, but in junior high school I had a sailor uniform with a tie, so I felt a little closer to it."
She also stated, "Because I'm the youngest member of Nogizaka46, I'm often treated like a kid, but I have something in common with Fuyuko in that I don't want to be treated like a kid! There are many things about Fuyuko's carefree personality that I envy, so I'm looking forward to playing such a character. I'll do my best to add a bright color to this drama through Fuyuko, and to make it a wonderful drama!"
The drama is based on the manga of the same name (by Nishika Hachi) currently being serialized on the manga app "Comic DAYS". It depicts the love story that begins in 1936 when Natsumi, who was suddenly proposed to and married on zero days after dating, and Ebata Takimasa (Honda Kyoya), who works for the Imperial Navy, begin their married life together.
The cast of Tsutomu Takahashi, Mahiru Konno, Kanna Mori, and Miyu Sakihi was also announced. Takahashi will play Tokuzo, the father of Natsumi and her friends, Konno will play Satsuki, the mother, Mori will play Harue, the eldest daughter, and Sakihi will play Akina, the second daughter.
