The third episode of the romance drama series "Kimi wa Mendou na Konyakusha," produced by TV Asahi and the video streaming service TELASA, began streaming on March 17th.
The drama stars Natsuki Hori of the dance and vocal group "FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE" and actress Momoko Tanabe. It is a live-action adaptation of a popular novel and manga (published by Hakusensha) by Shiino Midori and Usayama Monaka, and depicts the frustrating office love (=modokun love) of a couple who are constantly at odds with each other: high-spec elite employee Tachibana Hajime (Hori) and the president's daughter Kajiya Shino (Tanabe).
In the third episode, Shino is about to leave Tachibana's room in the morning when she bumps into Yui (Oto Abe Abe), a new employee, coming out of the room next door. She is shocked that her love rival lives nearby, but is shocked when Tachibana chases after Yui as she runs off.
Shino wants to know the meaning of Tachibana's actions, but she doesn't want to be seen as a jealous woman who is so concerned about such things... Shino is conflicted, and is unable to talk to Tachibana effectively, and makes an ``uncharacteristic mistake'' at work.
Seeing Shino in this state, Ikeno (Yoshitani Ayako), a senior in the PR department, gives her some advice. Thanks to that, Shino and Tachibana make up. They kiss secretly in an empty conference room at night, and promise to go to Tachibana's room that night, but an unexpected event awaits them there.
The third episode is packed with popular scenes from the original manga, as well as scenes that are original to the drama. Highlights include the lovey-dovey and affectionate scene after the two make up and visit Tachibana's room. The climax comes when Shino, who has been staying in Tachibana's room, wakes up in the middle of the night and hears Tachibana and Yui talking on the balcony... In the midst of their happy conversation, Shino overhears Tachibana calling her "a troublesome fiancé"... and so the story unfolds.
All six episodes are being streamed on TELASA, titled "Diamond Edition." On March 28th at 1:30 a.m., TV Asahi will broadcast a special edited version of "Diamond Edition," as well as "Platinum Edition," which includes behind-the-scenes footage and cast comments.
