It was announced on March 15th that voice actors Nanami Hiroki, Ishibashi Aya, Uzawa Shotaro, Hayashi Rika, and Yukawa Asaki have been selected as the winners of the New Voice Actor Award at the 19th Seiyuu Awards, which is given to the most active voice actor of the year.
Nanami, a former male star of the Takarazuka Revue who is active as an actor and voice actress, appeared at the awards ceremony held on the same day at the Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Media Plus Hall (Minato Ward, Tokyo) and expressed his joy, saying, "This is the happiest award I've ever received in my life." He expressed his gratitude, saying, "I started voice acting after leaving the Takarazuka Revue, which I had always dreamed of, but for a few years I was completely lacking in ability and worried that maybe I wasn't cut out for it. But the staff and seniors who were so enthusiastic about my work encouraged me and I was able to look forward."
The Seiyuu Awards were established in 2006 and are co-sponsored by KADOKAWA, Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, and Shogakukan Shueisha Productions. The 14 categories other than MVS (Most Valuable Seiyu, the most active voice actor chosen by fans) are selected by the executive committee and the selection committee. The 19th awards will be open to voice actors who appeared in works broadcast, streamed, or released between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024.
