It has been announced that the official spin-off of the popular manga "Crayon Shin-chan Shin-chan", "Nohara Hiroshi's Lunch Style", will be made into a TV anime and will be broadcast on BS Asahi every Friday at 11pm starting in October. The work is a gourmet manga themed on the lunch of Hiroshi, the father of Nohara Shinnosuke, the main character of "Crayon Shin-chan chan", and Hiroshi will be played by Toshiyuki Morikawa , just like in the anime " Crayon Shin-chan ". A key visual has also been released, showing Hiroshi in a suit standing in an office district lined with restaurants.
"Nohara Hiroshi's Lunch Style" began serialization in December 2015 in "Monthly Manga Town" (Futabasha, currently out of publication) as a work commemorating the 25th anniversary of " Crayon Shin-chan Shin-chan," which began serialization in 1990. The manga is drawn by Tsukahara Yoichi and is currently being serialized on the website "Crayon Shin-chan." It depicts Hiroshi, who works as an office worker for his family, and takes great care in choosing his lunch as a brief respite. Twelve volumes of the comic have been released, with a total circulation of over 800,000 copies. The series has gained popularity, with a total pageview count on "Crayon Shin-chan" exceeding 4.4 million.
The anime will be directed by Tsukasa Nishiyama, known for "Human Bug University - Department of Immortality and Misfortune". DLE, known for "Secret Society Eagle Talon", will produce the flash animation.
Tsukahara, who is working on the manga, commented, "When I first heard about the idea of adapting it into an anime, I was over the moon. When I read the script they sent me, I was even happier, thinking that they understood me. When I saw the finished product, I was amazed at how wonderful it was. I was then able to attend the dubbing session, and when Toshiyuki Morikawa's voice was added, I felt like I was beyond heaven, and even beyond the galaxy. Director Nishiyama said, "When I first heard about the role, my thought was, 'I'm sure I'll get hungry while working'. Then, once we actually started working...I got really hungry, which was difficult. Script meetings, consultations, recording...someone's stomach, including mine, was always growling. I hope you will enjoy 'Nohara Hiroshi's Lunch Style', an anime made using the sounds of so many different people's stomachs as fuel! If you're not sure what to have for lunch, be sure to eat the same thing as Hiroshi...Well, since I'm working from home, I mostly cook my own meals and follow a set menu."
Morikawa, who plays Hiroshi, commented, "Since Nohara Hiroshi is the main character because of his family, I wondered what on earth happened to the Nohara family?!? But when I learned about the contents of the work, I was relieved. It is a work that focuses on the unknown daily life of office worker Hiroshi, and only on lunch. A salesman, he is always alone during the day, although sometimes he is with his colleagues. The amount of lines is incredible. Because of this, I burned a lot of calories, and the delicious-looking food on the dubbing screen made my stomach rumble and I kept having to make NGs. It was really tough."
