It has been revealed that the theatrical pre-release of the latest work in the popular anime series "Gundam," "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX (Zeke Axe)," titled "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX -Beginning-," has made over 3.05 billion yen in box office revenue in the 52 days since its release on January 17. The movie has been a hit, with audience numbers exceeding 1.854 million.
It was also announced that the eighth gift for attendees will be the booklet "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- ANNO SCENARIO & DESIGN WORKS 2" which will be given away from March 15th. It contains the initial plot concept by screenwriter Anno Hideaki, part of the script, and original setting materials by designers and staff. A4 size, 24 pages.
"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is also attracting attention as it is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which is responsible for the "Gundam" series, and khara, known for the "Evangelion" series. Ahead of the broadcast of the TV anime series, a pre-release theatrical version, which reconstructed some episodes, began screening on January 17th. The TV anime series will be broadcast on 30 Nippon TV affiliates every Tuesday at 12:29am from April 8th, and will be streamed on Prime Video from 1am on April 9th, the fastest in Japan.
