It has been revealed that professional golfer Momoko Ueda will be commentating on a special channel live-streamed by WOWOW at the LPGA Women's Golf Tour's Ford Championship, which kicks off on March 28 (Japan time) at Whirlwind Golf Club in Arizona, USA. The special channel will be live-streamed on WOWOW on-demand PPV (pay-per-view), entitled "Momoko Ueda Presents! Ford Championship: A Camera Exclusively for Japanese Players." Ueda, who has a total of 17 wins in Japan and the US, will personally produce the channel and provide commentary on the play of the participating Japanese players from her own unique perspective.
Japan's players Ayaka Furue, Reo Takeda, Akie Iwai, Chirei Iwai, Nasa Hataoka, Mao Saigo, Hinako Shibuno, Minami Katsu, Yuna Nishimura, Yuri Yoshida and Saki Baba are scheduled to participate in the Ford Championship.
Ueda commented, "I hope to be able to convey the appeal of the amazing players competing on the American Tour from my own perspective! Please look forward to the broadcast!"
For WOWOW subscribers, tickets to the "Momoko Ueda Presents! Ford Championships, Camera Exclusively for Japanese Athletes" are 1,320 yen for the full schedule from the first to the final day, and 990 yen for the final day only. If you are not a WOWOW subscriber, tickets to the full schedule are 2,640 yen, and tickets to the final day only are 1,980 yen.
The ticket sales period for the live stream will run from February 27th to November 30th. After the live stream ends, the stream will be available to watch until December 31st.
WOWOW will also broadcast the Ford Championship live every day. The first day (March 28th), second day (29th), third day (30th), and final day (31st) will all be broadcast and streamed live on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand from 7am. The "Japanese Players Only Camera" (standard version), which broadcasts the play of Japanese players, will be streamed live on WOWOW On Demand.
