It has been announced that voice actors Kazunobu Chiba and Kosuke Echigoya will appear in the new TV anime "Shin Samurai Den YAIBA," based on the manga "YAIBA" by Gosho Aoyama, who is known for " Detective Conan " and other works. Chiba will play Kagetora the tiger who sets out on an adventure with the main character Yaiba Kurogane, while Echigoya will play Shonosuke, a brave vulture who came to Japan alone in pursuit of Tetsujin and his father Kenjuro.
Chiba is the voice actor for Detective Chiba Kazunobu in the TV anime "Detective Conan," and a collaboration video between "Detective Detective Conan YAIBA," in which Chiba plays the dual roles of Kagetora and Detective Chiba, was released on YouTube.
Chiba commented, "Gar~! Gargaru! Garuru!! So, I'm Chiba Kazunobu, playing Kagetora. I wasn't able to appear in the previous film, so I was really happy when I found out I'd be playing Kagetora in this one! Kagetora can't speak, but I'm having fun recording, and doing my best to make it possible for him to have a conversation with Yaiba and the others. An exciting adventure with Yaiba and the others is just around the corner! Please wait for a little while longer."
Echigoya said, "This is such a legendary work to me that I can't possibly express all my feelings about it in a few words. I am incredibly happy to have finally set my foot...no, to step into Gosho Aoyama's world! I will use my experience playing many animals to soar into the world of 'YAIBA' with all my might as Shonosuke. Kupi, kupi, kupipi (I hope this will be a work that is loved by many people)."
"YAIBA" is a swordplay action manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) from 1988 to 1993, before Aoyama began serializing "Detective Conan". It depicts the exploits of Yaiba Kurogane, an unconventional young swordsman who trains in the jungle with his father. The story follows Tsubasa, who returns to Japan by chance and strives to become even stronger in his new training ground... This is the story. A total of 24 volumes of the comic have been released, with a total circulation of about 17 million copies.
The new anime will be fully supervised by the original author, Aoyama, and will be fully animated after about 30 years since the series was completed. Following on from the TV anime "Yaiba: The Legend of Swordsman" that aired from 1993 to 1994, Minami Takayama will play the main character, Yaiba. It will be produced by WIT STUDIO, known for "Attack on Titan" and "SPY×FAMILY". It will be broadcast on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV every Saturday at 5:30 pm from April 5th.
