The cast and main visuals surrounding the two co-stars of the romance drama series "You Are a Troublesome Fiance," produced by TV Asahi and the video distribution service "TELASA," Hori Natsuki of the dance and vocal group "FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE" and actress Tanabe Momoko, were released on February 17th.
The drama is based on the popular manga (Hakusensha) of the same name by Midori Shiino and Monaka Usayama. It is a frustrating and heart-pounding love story about an office romance between a high-spec elite employee and the daughter of a company president who are constantly at odds with each other. "Diamond Edition" will be available on TELASA from noon on March 3rd, with all 6 episodes. "Platinum Edition", a special edited version of "Diamond Edition" with behind-the-scenes footage of the drama and comments from the cast, will be broadcast on TV Asahi from 1:30am on March 28th.
Kajiya Shino (Tanabe), the daughter of the president of Kajiya Foods, a long-established Western confectionery manufacturer, and a member of the public relations department in her fourth year at the company, has a fiance whom her father, the president, arranged for an arranged marriage. Her fiance is Tachibana Hajime (Hori), the ace of the sales department at the same company. Appearance, personality, specs... her perfect fiance is flawless and has it all, but he is also someone who shakes Shino's emotions on a daily basis. Even after three years of their engagement, Tachibana still refuses to move on from kissing, and one day, a new employee, Hanazawa Yui, is assigned to the sales department. Shino sees Tachibana interacting with Yui as a supervisor, and from that day on, her heart begins to flutter... This is the story.
The new employee, Yui Hanazawa, will be played by actor Oto Abe, who is also active as a member of the theater company 4 Dollar 50 Cents. Abe, who is also known for her performance in "Kamen Rider Gotchard" (2023-2024), will appear in this work as a character who will make the love between the two main characters even more difficult.
Comedian Yutty will be playing the role of Ushijima An, the secretary of Shino's father, Motoharu, but will be taking on the role without his trademark headband. Yoshitani Ayako, who is also known for her role in the Bisreach commercial, will play Ikeno Nozomi, a senior in the PR department where Shino works and who becomes a good confidant.
Additionally, Okouchi Hiroshi will play Kajiya Motoji, Shino's father and president of Kajiya Foods. Motoji appears as the key person who arranged the engagement of the two main characters for a political marriage. Inoue Hajime will play Toyoshima, the head of the public relations department to which Shino belongs. Hada Michiko will play Kajiya Sumire, Shino's mother, who will become Shino's strong supportive mother. Katsumura Masanobu will play Tachibana Makio, Tachibana's father, playing a cool older man with a good attitude.
The main visual released is based on the e-comic "Frustrating Office Love with a Handsome Colleague (Jire Love)," which the heroine Shino loves to read in the play. Whenever something happens in the real world, such as the ups and downs of her relationship with her fiance Tachibana, or the anxiety of the arrival of new employee Yui, Shino sees herself as being in "Frustrating Love." As if to symbolize Shino's psychology, the image shows Tachibana, who is on the border between the world of the comic and the real world, reaching out his hand to take Shino to the real world. Diamonds, which symbolize engagement and marriage, are scattered around the two, and in the play, diamonds appear symbolically as they change color, as if to echo Shino's feelings.
