It has been announced that Toru Shirokane's light novel "The Kept Man of the Princess Knight", which was also the winner of the 28th Dengeki Novel Prize, will be adapted into a TV anime. It was also announced that Junichi Suwabe and Mikako Komatsu will play the role of Alwin, just like in the original PV. Chihiro Kumano will be the director, and BLADE will be the producer.
"The Kept Man of the Princess Knight" is a story about a former adventurer named Matthew who lives in the labyrinth city of ash, chaos and vice, a gray neighbor, and is raised by the princess knight Alwin of a fallen country. He is called the worst "gigolo" by the people, and hides his true identity and lives as a gigolo. The series has sold over 200,000 copies in total.
Suwabe commented, "The Princess Knight's Gigolo is finally being made into an anime! Following on from the promotional videos that have been produced so far, I will once again be in charge of the character Matthew in this work. I will do my best to bring out his charm to the fullest. Please look forward to it!"
Komatsu said, "Congratulations on the decision to make an anime of 'The Princess Knight's Gigolo'! I'm really happy to be continuing to work on it from the PV. In addition to the PV, I was also in charge of the ASMR, which was a pretty thrilling situation, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how the suspicious relationship between her and Matthew will be portrayed when it is made into an anime. So, please support the TV anime as well!"
