It has been announced that the fourth season of the TV anime series "A Certain Scientific Railgun," a spinoff of the popular light novel series "A Certain Magical Index Magical Index" by Kazuma Kamachi, will be produced. It was also announced that the series' spinoff "A Certain Dark Side Girl Symbiosis (Item)" will be made into a TV anime.
Kamachi commented, "Shoujo Kyosei and A Certain Scientific Railgun are being made into anime. The girls will be moving and talking a lot! Though they are both about celebrity girls, they are two works with completely opposite identities of good and evil, so it might be interesting to compare them. In particular, the meaning of teamwork is completely different in the two works, so that's something to consider. Between Mugino and Mikoto, it's surprising how much more dependent Mugino is, which is a point to note. Or rather, once Mugino starts acting on her own, there's no one to hold her back. Mikoto is Mikoto, and in this case, various sides of a person come out depending on who she acts with, so that's also something to look out for. Anyway, I hope you'll look forward to both works!"
Ami Koshimizu , who plays Mugino Shizuri in "A Certain Dark Side of Girl Cohabitation," said, "Congratulations on the anime adaptation! I was very surprised that it was adapted into an anime at this timing. The Item members tend to be violent, but there are some surprisingly laid-back everyday scenes. I'm looking forward to acting out the conversations in those scenes. I'm sure they will be violent in many ways (laughs)."
Rina Sato, who plays Misaka Mikoto in "A Certain Scientific Railgun," commented, "We get to see Mikoto and the others in action again! I'm sure everyone is so happy! "A Certain Scientific Railgun" is a spin-off manga of "A Certain Magical Index Index". Set in Academy City, where psychic powers are researched, the series follows Misaka Mikoto, nicknamed the Railgun, and her friends as they solve various cases. The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2009 to March 2010, the second from April to September 2013, and the third from January to September 2020.
"A Certain Dark Side of Girls Cohabitation" depicts the exploits of an elite unit made up of specialists in various fields, led by Mugino Shizuka, a level 5 psychic.
