On February 15th, the popular group "timelesz" held the "timelesz succession ceremony new organization announcement press conference" to unveil the new members in Tokyo. The group is now eight members strong, with five successful candidates from the "timelesz project" audition joining the group. When asked what he wants to cherish about the group, Fuma Kikuchi said, "Anyway, I want it to be a place where we can have fun and laugh all the time."
When asked why she thinks this way, Kikuchi began by saying, "We do a variety of jobs, both as a group and individually. For example, if we're doing acting, there are professional actors there, and for variety shows there are comedians, and ultimately for music activities there are artists." She continued, adding her own opinion, "When it comes to being a group, I think it's the only job we can be proud of and do our best to complete it. I think being a group is more important to us than anything else, so if we make this our top priority, then how do we make it last for a long time? I think it's about becoming close enough to have fun, laugh, and be able to say anything to each other."
"Timelo" was announced at the same time as the group's name change from "Sexy Zone" to "Timelesz" in April 2024. A total of 18,922 people applied for the first round of auditions, and six rounds of auditions were held, with the final five members being selected: Takuto Teranisi (30), Yoshitaka Hara (29), Masaki Hashimoto (25), Shudo Inomata (23), and Taiki Shinozuka (22).
Kikuchi described the new group as a "family." He said, "I've always thought that the relationship between members can only be expressed as members. Unlike friends or family, our relationship is so special that it can only be expressed as members. However, I would like to take this opportunity to declare that we are a family. We have become a family. Our last name is timelesz." He spoke about the feelings behind the word "family."
When the five new members were asked how they felt about joining the group, Shinozuka said, "I've been supported and helped by many people to get to where I am now, and now that I'm a member, I'll do my best to become an amazing idol that I can give back to everyone and be a source of energy for your lives." Teranishi said, "I hope to look forward to a bright, happy, and energetic future with my new family." Hashimoto said, "As part of the family, I want to have fun and work hard together from now on." Inomata said, "I hope the eight of us can do all kinds of fun things and reach the top," and Hara said, "I hope we can cherish every moment, both the fun and the hardships, and grow into a big family." They were all enthusiastic.
When asked who they would like to inform the new members of their results, many of them answered their families. Kikuchi responded, "That's a nice story, but you've all become family now, so maybe someone other than your family?" To which Hara replied, "Meguro (Ren) I guess," mentioning Meguro, a member of Snow Man who is his close friend and a member of the same group as Hara.
Hara expressed his gratitude, saying, "We've been in the same year together, and he's always been in touch with me, so I want to tell him as soon as possible. I have to tell him. I think that's the way to show my sincerity to him." He added, "From now on, we'll be on the same level as each other, as debutants, but our relationship will remain the same, and I hope we can continue to compete with each other sincerely."
