It was announced on February 12th that the popular three-member group "KAT-TUN" will be disbanding. "We would like to announce that KAT-TUN will be disbanding on March 31, 2025," was the announcement on STARTO ENTERTAINMENT's official website. Kamenashi Kazuya will leave STARTO, while Ueda Tatsuya and Nakamaru Yuichi will continue their individual contracts.
The official website announced, "KAT-TUN signed a contract with our company in April 2024 and have continued their activities since then, but after approximately a year of discussions with the members, we have decided as a company that it would be better for the members to take down the KAT-TUN sign and choose their own paths when the second year of their contract begins on April 1, 2025. Looking ahead, Kamenashi Kazuya will leave the company when his contract expires on March 31, and Ueda Tatsuya and Nakamaru Yuichi will continue their contracts with us as individuals."
They continued, "We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans and people involved who have supported KAT-TUN for the past 25 years since our formation. We will disband on March 31st, but at the members' request, we are currently making arrangements to create a place where we can meet our fans in the near future. We will inform our fans as soon as the details are decided." They concluded by saying, "We would be grateful if you would continue to support Kamenashi Kazuya, Ueda Tatsuya, and Nakamaru Yuichi as they embark on new paths from now on. Thank you very much for your continued support."
