According to the movie attendance rankings for February 7-9 (surveyed by Kogyo Tsushinsha) announced on February 10, "First Kiss," written by Sakamoto Yuji and directed by Tsukahara Ayuko, took the top spot on its first appearance. Matsu Takako plays the main character, Suzuri Kanna, who loses her husband in an accident and travels back in time to the day just before she meets him, while Matsumura Hokuto plays Kanna's husband, Kakeru, who meets Kanna from the future. In the three days since its release on February 7, the movie attracted approximately 174,000 viewers and earned approximately 254 million yen in box office revenue.
Among the first-time entries, "Ross of the Wild" (directed by Chris Sanders), a 30th anniversary film from DreamWorks Animation depicting the bond between a robot that develops a heart and animals, ranked second. In the three days since its release on February 7, it attracted approximately 122,000 viewers and earned approximately 170 million yen in box office revenue. "Showtime Seven" (directed by Watanabe Kazutaka), starring Abe Hiroshi, which is based on the Korean smash hit "Terror Live" (directed by Kim Byung-woo) and includes original developments, started off in fifth place.
"366 Days" (directed by Shinjo Takehiko), which took first place in its fourth week of release last week, is now in third place, drawing in around 115,000 viewers over the three-day weekend and earning around 150 million yen. In total, it has attracted 1.3 million viewers and made over 1.6 billion yen. In fourth place is "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-" (directed by Tsurumaki Kazuya), the pre-theater version of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX", which drew in around 112,000 viewers over the three-day weekend and made around 191 million yen. In total, it has attracted 1.38 million viewers and made over 2.2 billion yen.
"Grand Maison Paris," directed by Tsukahara like "First Kiss," ranked 7th, with a total of 2.53 million viewers and over 3.6 billion yen in box office revenue. "Cells at Work" (directed by Hideki Takeuchi), ranked 8th, has a total of 4.42 million viewers and is approaching 6 billion yen in box office revenue.
