Additional cast members have been announced for the fourth and final season of the TV anime series "Dr. Stone," based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). It has been revealed that Akira Sekine will play Luna, Chiharu Sawashiro will play Carlos, and Taishi Murata will play Max.
Sekine, who plays Luna, a former medical student with a bright and sociable personality, and who is good at gathering information using her beauty and charm, commented, "She has expressions and personalities that change all the time! She's such a charming woman, so I told myself, 'I'm a cool woman! I'm a capable woman!!' as I approached the recording!! I hope everyone will look forward to the anime!"
Sawashiro, who plays Carlos, who has a long history with Luna and protects her together with Max, said, "Carlos is a very cute character, so I tried to play him in a way that would show that side of him! I did my best to make the world of Dr. Stone even brighter, so please be sure to check it out! Thank you!"
Murata, who plays Max, the bodyguard who calls Luna "Miss" and protects her, commented, "I've been given the very honourable role of guarding our Miss Luna together with my partner Carlos. I'll use my impressive strength to mercilessly fight back against any strange bugs that approach the Miss... No, the closest one was a nuisance pick-up guy who got in the way, Aaaaaaaaaah! Carlos! I won't lose to you! I'm the sneaky Luna! I appreciate your support."
"Dr. Stone" is written by Inagaki Riichiro (Eyeshield 21) and illustrated by Boichi (San-Ken Rock and ORIGIN). It was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2017 to March 2022. Thousands of years have passed since all of humanity was instantly turned to stone by a mysterious phenomenon. Senku Ishigami, a boy with a superhuman intellect and a natural scientist, awakens and, in a desperate situation, decides to search for his friends and take the world back... This is the story. Senku uses science to try to build a civilization from scratch. The comics have sold over 18 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2019, the second season from January to March 2021, the TV special "Dr. Stone Ryusui" in July 2022, the first cour of the third season from April to June 2023, and the second cour from October to December of the same year. The first cour of the final season is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other stations.
