It has been announced that the TV anime "A Wild Last Boss Has Appeared!", based on a popular work that originated from the novel submission site "Shosetsuka ni Naro", will begin airing in October. The main cast has also been announced, with Ami Koshimizu playing the protagonist Ruphas Mafahl, also known as the Black Winged Overlord, and Usui Yuri playing Dina, Ruphas's advisor. Horiuchi Yuya will be the director, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu will be in charge of series composition. WOW World will be producing the anime.
Koshimizu commented, "It's a very complex role that mixes inside and outside, past and present, so I feel like my head is going to explode every episode (laughs). I hope you'll look forward to seeing how these fascinating characters are portrayed!"

Director Horiuchi commented, "In adapting it into an anime, we've sprinkled in a lot of elements, just like in the original, so all the staff are working hard to create something that fans who are familiar with the original will enjoy, while first-time viewers will be left wondering what's going on...! That said, the main character, Ruphas, is full of charm. She's pretty and cool, and yet violent and beautiful, but she also has a cute side, is tall, has a good figure, and is very caring towards her friends..."
The first teaser visual and teaser PV have also been released, depicting the Black-Winged Overlord Ruphas, who has been released from a 200-year seal, and his advisor Dina.
"A Wild Last Boss Has Appeared!" is a light novel written by Entou and illustrated by YahaKo. The story follows the protagonist, "I," who is transported to another world 200 years in the future, following his adventures as he is possessed by Ruphas Mafahl, a female hero who is feared as the Black Winged Overlord from the game. The light novel is published by Earth Star Novel (Earth Star Entertainment) and the comic book adaptation is published by Earth Star Comics (same publisher), with the series having sold over 1.4 million copies in total.
